Strange Weather Happens Everywhere…..
In my search for weird weather happenings in the Midwest, I have come across some strange stuff happening all over the world. For example: There was
actually one year, back in 1816, that didn’t have a Summer! Yeah that’s right. There were places in Europe and Canada and the united States that had snow falling in June. Blizzards even hit during that time. It was proceeded by a big frost that came in May, killing off crops and causing food shortages. Cold weather continued through out July and August with a sprinkling of hot or warm days mixed in. Some days were both hot and cold. This freak weather situation has been thought to be caused by a volcanic eruption that had happened in the year before. Weird.
Another example:
There were some deadly hailstorms that took place in Bangladesh, not so long ago in 1986. Hail is not normally thought of as deadly. Hail is usually fairly small and at it’s worst cracks some windows or ruins siding on homes, but this was hail that was around 2 lbs in size. People ( around 92 people) and animals were killed, trees were stripped, houses destroyed. This was the largest hail size ever recorded. Very strange.
It seems like strange weather occurances are happening so much here in the good ole USA that I haven’t really looked outside our country to see what has happened out there. I think I will look into that a little more and see what other crazy weather happenings are going on.

I’ve noticed the man made effects on the weather with my own eyes.
I grew up in Phoenix,Az, During the summer months you had a monsoon season. The monsoons originated in the Pacific waters off the Mexican coast, they would flow up the Gulf of California and into the Sonoran desert all the way to Phoenix. This used to happen like clockwork, late afternoon to early evening you would get the dust storm followed by thunderstorms and rain. The next day it would be clear as a bell and a little humid until the moisture disapated. I noticed after the size of the town exploded that these weather patterns were effected by the man made heat created from roads,a/c condensors etc. The storms would form on the horizon but it would have to take a voilent one to penetrate the big heat dome surrounding the city. This in turn started to effect the precious rainfall that once used to saturate the deserts of Phoenix. The results were droughts that were actually killing native plants that were engineered by nature to survive in the desert enviroment. The
rainfall that once used to be regular wasn’t a whole lot but, it was enough to allow this delicate ecosystem to flourish. People don’t realize how delicate the desert really is, nor do they really give much regard to it’s sensitivity. It is a beautiful place when uneffected by mans by products of comfort. And sorry to say it is dying off.
